Game Name: Wild Night
System: Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition (one shot)
Desired Day/Time: Monday, Thursday, or Sunday 6pm
Made for 4-5 players
Description:
What was supposed to be a pleasant tour through the Florida Everglades quickly turns into a night of horror as your buggy crashes on the return trip. You and your fellow tourists find yourselves stranded, but quickly discover that you are less alone than you think. You may not have seen it, but it has definitely seen you.
The Spinosaurus (Dino Statblocks) appears at both random and pivotal moments throughout the game. After the investigators leave the buggy, set a d4 to 4 and make it public to the party, without elaboration. Whenever the players move recklessly, make a loud noise, or otherwise make themselves known, decrease the counter by 1. When the counter reaches 0, the Spinosaurus appears.
When the Spinosaurus appears, play one of its sounds and tell the players that they’re no longer alone. This creature is deadly and the party should avoid it at all costs. This aquatic predator will stalk the players and actively hunt them, using ambush tactics to sneak up and make a move from the shadows. This creature should be merciless.
In order to survive, the players will either have to outsmart or outmaneuver the Spinosaurus, it’s only capable of so much after all.
Start with the buggy destroyed and in the middle of the night. The tour guide, Arthur Artwood is nowhere to be seen. Quickly let the players meet each other while they come to consciousness. Establish that there are multiple strange sounds from all around the woods, and the investigators need to get moving soon.
The blood trail leads to a crossroads of 4 different paths: NW, N, NE, E
